eBay is Saying Goodbye to Third Party Checkouts
Roughly a year from now, the giant online-auction mogul known as eBay is flipping the switch on third-party payment processors in June 2011. According to eBay, third-party processors are only used less than 10 percent of the time, anyway, so honestly, it's not a major blow at all. The huge payment center, PayPal (which is also owned by eBay) will be the payment processor of choice, they say.
To spruce up some things when they do flip the switch, eBay is offering some interesting upgrades to those who do use third-party checkout systems:
- Advanced tax reporting
- More and better credit card integration
- Much more advanced shipping solutions
I'm an eBay supporter, though not a huge eBay shopper, but I do probably buy two to five things a year from the site when I see a good deal. I'm very interested in the Daily Deals section, which offers you a variety of items going that sometimes have enormous discounts.
