Tech Funds Are Heating Up The Financial Stock Markets
In a flashback to the late 1990s, stock brokers and market analysts are closely following the developments of social media and other Internet technologies. In the breathless days prior to the bursting of the dot-com bubble it wasn't unusual for a US fund seeking to invest in private Internet tech companies to hit the NASDAQ with an exciting initial public offering (IPO). Back then such tech funds were focused on potential venture investments in high-risk Internet companies. The resurgence of red-hot tech on the NASDAQ is very reminiscent of the first quarter in the year 2000 when the tech-heavy electronic stock exchange boasted daily triple digit gains and reached a historical high above 5000 points, shortly before it crashed. US fund managers looking to invest in today's tech start-ups insist that times have changed and that the spectacular failures of yesteryear aren't likely to repeat themselves today.
Critics of the current tech revitalization on the NASDAQ point to social media giants such as Facebook and Twitter and their soaring valuations. Facebook is the undisputed darling of the technology world, having been valued as high as $100 billion.

Two Ways To Start Your Own WordPress
WordPress is the most popular blogging and CMS platform on the web today. The software powers over 50 million sites, both personal and business. Approximately half the sites are self-hosted by their owners and the other half are set up on Wordpress.com. The following explains how to get started with either method.WordPress.com
Many individuals or businesses find setting up a free blog on WordPress.com is the easiest way to begin. It takes only a few moments to sign up for the service and choose a theme, then the site is ready for posts and updates. The user does not have to worry about hosting fees or software updates, as these issues are handled by WordPress.com. The service also effectively deals with spam and security.
The one drawback to using the hosted service is a successful blog or site may soon outgrow it. Also, if the user does not want ads, there is a $30 per year fee and the user is not allowed to place their own ads on the site. Using a custom domain name requires an additional $17 per year charge.

Google+ Isn't Business Profile Friendly
In June, Google launched a new social network called Google+ (pronounced "Google Plus") in a limited release. Trying to lure away a chunk of Facebook's more than 400 million users, Google+ offered better privacy, more flexible ways to differentiate relationships, and new features like group video chat. Within two weeks, Google+ had grown to more than 7.5 million users -- all of whom had been invited by existing users, which makes the rapid growth even more remarkable.Business owners who want to tap into the Google+ market will have to re-evaluate their marketing strategy. Google+ represents a paradigm shift in the way social networks handle sharing and privacy, which means strategies that work on Facebook or Twitter may not work well on Google+. However, the explosive growth on this new site makes it essential that business owners know about the site and start developing marketing strategies to target this new audience.

The main issue with the current technology is how different a computer microphone is compared to a phone. Google released the first version of the voice-activation technology on their android phones. You were able to search the web without having to type in your search terms. The biggest feature that came from the Android version of the voice-activation technology was Google Voice Actions. It allowed you to interact with your phone without type or touching anything. You were able to text, open apps, send emails, and just surf the internet with the power of your voice. Google is now looking to revolutionize voice-activation on the desktop with Google Voice Search for the desktop.
